Christmas

We had a great Christmas! So great that updating our blog got put on the back burner! I am not sure how people that blog everyday get all of their stuff done. We had a great visit with family and got to see a few friends too. We were thankful that we caught onto Jacob getting sick early in the game. What else did we have to do the Friday before Christmas besides sit in a pediatrician's office for 2 hours (with everyone else in Atl!) and get diagnosed with pneumonia?? So glad it was early, did not get too bad and antibiotics worked quickly!
The picture above is Jacob opening one of the first gifts, when he was still savoring every minute. He quickly moved into "where is the next one?"

Tickle me Elmo cracked us all up! I think it is a rule that every toy given by a grandparent sings, claps, plays music or makes some other very entertaining noise:)

All Jacob asked Santa for was a "piece of gum in a little box." He was thrilled Christmas morning when he opened just that.

Here is Jacob's first piece of gum. Don't worry, he was very supervised!! When asked what he got for Christmas, this is what he tells about. We could stock a toy store but don't forget that piece of gum!
Cousin time! Jacob thinks he is somewhere between 11 and 13 years old. He told me, "Mom we are going to go watch You Tube."

I will update with a couple of other fun Christmas things later. With Jacob getting sick, we did pass on a couple of activities we had planned but had a great Christmas. We have a lot to be thankful for this year.....most of all, a time to reflect on the miracle of God's incredible gift to us, His Son.

No better sound........

Ba dum, badum, badum....No better sound than a baby's heartbeat. We had our 14 week visit yesterday and everything is moving along nicely. I had not blogged that we had run into a few complications several weeks ago (not sure the www needed those kind of details although I have NO modesty left:) but everything is looking up. The baby has been fine the whole time it was my body not sure if it wanted to hold up to it's end of the deal. On our next visit we will have our ultrasound and yes, we will find out what we are having this time. We have not told Jacob that he will have a baby brother or sister yet mainly because he will think that it will be here later this week! We have started talking about "one day when we have a baby." Several people have asked him if would like a brother or sister. His jury is still out, sometimes a boy and sometimes a girl.
Very thankful for that healthy heartbeat........

Christmas fun

A couple of days ago, we made Jacob's ginger bread train. He picked the train over the house. You can tell by the picture that he did most of the decorating himself.

I went back and forth thinking, "what a great little tradition we are starting here," & "what in the world was I thinking that a 2 1/2 year old could do this!" He was most interested in tasting the icing and sampling the candy.

Friday night we went to the mall to see Santa. Jacob enjoyed talking to Santa, a far cry from last year when he screamed and I refused to pay $25 for a picture of him crying. He told Santa he wanted some gum (which he has never even had!) If we had only none the bar was so low before we did our shopping!

At 7:00 every evening, it snows around Santa's village and the train. This is Jacob seeing the snow for the first time. He thought that was really neat and got a kick out of Santa dancing to "let it snow."

Saturday morning we tried again to get a Christmas card pictures. We have tried a couple of times already. Being still was one problem and we have learned the "fake smile" too, making the picture taking even more fun!

Who's big boy is that anyway?

A little Christmas fun from Jacob

Jacob saw a few of these and got a kick out of seeing himself on one. Funny thing is....yesterday I sent it out to about 20 folks and it wasn't Jacob! There was a little glitch and it was the one of Inman and FBNO staff:) Imagine the look of everyone's face! We will send out some other pics soon, say maybe the fun we had last night trying to get a Christmas card picture!
